G2 Esports have claimed victory at the DreamHack Open in Tours, France, beating HellRaisers in a very close final to earn themselves $50,000 USD, as well as their first ever trophy.

The road to the final saw them take on Mousesports, winning 2-1, before taking on HellRaisers, who had just defeated Misfits 2-0. Having qualified above them in their group, HellRaisers must have been going into the finals with a lot of hope, but it wasn't to be, as G2 Esports won on Cache 16-6 before registering a much closer 16-14 win on Cbble.

Natus Vincere, Heroic, Tricked, and EnVyUs will no doubt all be disappointed not to have advanced out of the groups, but this win for the French team G2 Esports must have meant a lot, and they were deserving victors. Do you think the home advantage helped?
